General Manager Leasing - Michael Chapman Michael has 35 years’ experience in the property industry having specialised in the retail property market for the majority of this time. Michael grew up immersed in real estate through the family real estate practice and following tertiary education as a valuer commenced his career in 1980 with Hardie & Gorman/Knight Frank in Sydney. This was initially within the Valuation Division but he quickly moved into the Shopping Centre Management and Retail Leasing Divisions delivering projects such as the redevelopment of the Carlingford Court and Forestway Shopping Centres. Michael was one of the youngest executives to be appointed as an Associate Director of the firm and was awarded the inaugural HOA Gorman award for excellence. In 1989 Michael established his own consultancy practice which was built into one of the most highly respected independent retail property specialists throughout Australia. The firm specialized in the planning and delivery of retail projects throughout Australia and was responsible for the delivery, redevelopment, or initial master planning of the retail component of numerous iconic projects over 20 years including Greenwood Plaza North Sydney, Woolloomooloo Finger Wharf, Overseas Passenger Terminal Sydney, Collins Place Melbourne, Star City Casino Sydney, Gowings Building Sydney, Thredbo & Perisher Ski Resorts. In 2011 Michael joined Vinta full time. Michael holds a Diploma of Business In Valuation (HAC) and is a Licenced Real Estate Agent.
